Points of Passion

In response to the amazing grace of our Lord Jesus and the extravagant love of our Father God, we live to give all we can and to show the love of Jesus to those who are hurting and to those who have never heard. This vision is not out of obligation but is truly our joy. That’s why we call our missions and outreach efforts, “Points of Passion.” Church at the Park is committed to meeting the needs of the lost and hurting, both at home and abroad. We partner with organizations that reach out to terminally ill children, provide emergency help to the needy, assist women facing an unplanned pregnancy, support outreach projects, and plant life-gospel churches with the same heart to give.

Around the world, the Church is growing at an explosive rate. One prominent Christian leader has estimated that more than one billion people will come to faith in Christ over the next decade. To assimilate all of these new converts, more than two million new churches will need to be started. More than 4,000 new pastors are needed every month to keep up with the current rate of spiritual growth. We ask ourselves, “Who will reach them, nurture them, lead them, and train them?” We want it to be us.

Church at the Park has an intense, genuine desire to partner with the Lord for the completion of the Great Commission. We are compelled to go to the whole world because we are convinced that when Jesus said, “Go into all the world…” (Mark 16:15) He really meant ALL the world. Our driving passion is “to know God, and make Him known among all nations.” As we pray for people, go to the lost and hurting, and give all we can, we will see this passion fulfilled.

Together, we are making a difference in North Carolina. And by His grace, we will reach our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Our Points of Passion focus primarily in three areas. Acts 1:8 says, “You will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We believe that God wants us to have an eternal impact locally, nationally, and internationally

Points of Faith

The Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error. It is the supreme and final authority for all matters of Christian life and belief. There is one true and living God, who eternally exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are equal in every divine perfection and who execute distinct but harmonious offices in all the work of the Godhead.

Man was created by God in His own image, but through his sin incurred physical and spiritual death. As a result, all people are separated from God by their sin and are lost and without hope apart from salvation in Christ.

The Gospel is the good news of God’s saving actions towards sinners through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the eternal son of God, took on human nature, lived a sinless life, and died a substitutionary death for sinners.

Salvation is a free gift that comes only by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. Anyone who turns from their sin and trusts in Jesus Christ and His death on their behalf receives forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.

The Holy Spirit works progressively to transform genuine believers more and more into the image of Christ. His work is carried on in our hearts through such appointed means as the study of Scripture, prayer, worship, and fellowship with other believers. The Holy Spirit also empowers believers for Christian witness and service and gives gifts for the building up of the body of Christ, the church.

The universal church, composed of genuine followers of Christ, exists to worship, serve, and glorify God.  All members of the universal church are to be vitally committed members of a local church, where they receive pastoral care and the opportunity to employ their God-given gifts in His service.

Jesus Christ will return to the earth, personally and visibly, to establish His kingdom in the new heavens and the new earth.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost—the saved to endless joy, living and reigning with Christ, and the lost to endless punishment away from the benevolent presence of God.
